Open Days 2025

Open 'days' 2025 held on Friday afternoon, 23rd May and Sunday 25th May.
In a change from previous years, the event took place alongside the Bowls England Big Bowls weekend. Unfortunately the Club had a fixture arranged for the Saturday, so the event was split into 2 separate days and timings.
Significant advertising was organised by Bob Penny, Recruitment Officer, for the events, along with many Club volunteers. A Leaflet Drop was undertaken on the market day prior to the event; large banners were put up in two locations in town; A4 posters were distributed into several venues in town; roadside boards were positioned in several locations; a notice was put in the Melton Messenger events page; and Bob was able to have an interview undertaken by the Melton103 Eye aired on the radio on the Sunday morning.
Along with the weather being very good on both days, bunting and balloons were put up to brighten the entrance to the green.
An introduction to outdoor lawn bowls was given to the visitors, by Club members, and they were given the opportunity to bowl in the different layouts arranged on the green.
Initial reports are that several visitors showed a real interest in joining the Club, and these have been invited to forthcoming Chummy afternoons to take their experience forward.
