President Fred Thorpe - 2026

President Fred's theme for this year's President's Day was "Paint the Club Red". Clothing for the 30 members and guests attending  was significantly red, the garden flowers were all red and the club room was decorated with red throughout. Although played in the morning, for the first time, the weather was sunny and warm from the start. The spider competition was won by Byron James and the money collected is to be given to the Partially Sighted Organisation. The playing members were divided into teams representing President Fred and Vice President Anne, and the games played were 3 triples rinks and an Australian Pairs rink. The final match shots score gave President Fred's team victory by 68 shots to 41, and winning on 3 of the 4 rinks. Refreshments were taken after the match with a bring and share meal enjoyed by all. President Fred thanked everyone who had attended on the day and also those who had helped both before and on the day to make it such a special and enjoyable occasion. President Fred has been collecting for his chosen charity, the Air Ambulance Organisation, throughout his year of office and the final sum collected will be presented to them at the end of this year.
